Sagunto is part of this route that comes from Aragon and takes us to the city of Valencia

In our brotherhood we have the honor of guarding a reproduction of the Holy Chalice or Grail that the Cathedral of Valencia has seen fit to grant us.

This transnational route, based on the European Cultural and Heritage Project Holy Grail Route, brings us closer to a millennial past that allows us to better understand our cultural history, which in this case is based on the tradition of the Holy Grail of the Last Supper of Jesus.

The Grail is the most important known relic, it has been the protagonist of The Crusades, the secret of the Templars and has inspired legends such as that of King Arthur or Parsifal.

Cinema, literature, music or painting have collected the legend of this cup that began its journey in Jerusalem, it was venerated in Rome in the third century, until besieged by the persecution of Christians, it was transferred by order of San Lorenzo to the Iberian peninsula, to Aragonese lands, until culminating its journey in the Cathedral of Valencia, by the hand of Alfonso V, the Magnanimous in 1432.

This long journey, full of vicissitudes, struggles, traditions and intrigues has forged the myth of the Grail: one of the most important spiritual legacies in Europe.
