On April 3, 2004, it was released for the first time, after a parenthesis of more than 140 years “La Passió en viu”.

The Brotherhood of the Blood along with the Mayoralia of the Year and with the collaboration of the City Council of Sagunto managed to recover, as part of the cultural heritage of our city, this representation that staged the passion and death of Jesus Christ, integrating as a central act of our Holy Week.

The actors who performed the work, not professionals, were chosen from a significant number of people who appeared at the casting that was convened for that purpose.

With months of rehearsals and under the direction of D. Antonio Ruiz, director of recognized prestige in our population, they managed to make it possible for us to talk about success.

Live musicians and choirs, as well as technical sound and lighting equipment, production equipment etc., completed more than 100 people that were needed to perform this production.

In the church of Santa Maria the first part was staged with the Praetorium, and later on the Calvary the Crucifixion was staged, which gathered a multitude of people.

Since then, and until today, year after year is represented with great success and massive public assistance “La Passió en viu”, which currently begins in the Plaza Mayor and culminates in the Santo Calvario.
